The car is said to have remained immobile for several seconds before pulling away, with the lion in pursuit. The creature gave chase until a warden took action by throwing a stone, shooing the animal back into it’s enclosure.

The whole ordeal was captured by Richard Holden and his family, who were on holiday in the car behind. ‘They must have been panicking because they didn’t drive off straight away,’ said Mr Holden, ‘If that had been me, I would have hit the gas.’
