Vietnamese government not so keen on online games.

The Vietnamese government has decided to impose strict restrictions on massively multiplayer online games, after a public outcry about their effects on the nations youth.

ISP’s will be forced to shut off service to gaming cafes and retailers after hours and a ban has been imposed on any and all advertisements for online games. In addition, the Ministry of Information and Communication will stop any further online games coming to the country until further legislation on the matter.

The decision was made after a number of incidents incited by online conflicts. For example, a 15-year-old girl attacked a local four-year-old, reportedly to obtain $10 for microtransactions. The girl was sentenced to ten years in prison.
