According to “trade insiders,” a price drop for the Playstation 3 is expected to happen around the time of Gamescom, bringing the console down to £199.99, with retailers prepared to charge £179.99.

According to MCV, software sales are down £50 million for the first six months of the year, something that would be significantly boosted by console price cuts.
