London’s ongoing riots have resulted in the destruction of Sony’s DADC (Digital Audio Disc Corporation) facility located in Innova Park, Enfield.
The plant is responsible for the manufacturing of CDs, DVDs, UMDs and Blu-Ray disks, and also houses high tech research labs working on emerging optical technology. It should be noted that most Playstation disks are printed at a similar facility based in Austria.
The level of damage isn’t currently known, but this video from Twitter user “shanebaby82″ shows extensive destruction.
Update: A caller to BBC News has confirmed that the fire was started by looters, who fled the scene carrying Sony products.

@Hm
Hm you are a fucking idiot, this ‘Anonymous’ is not some criminal gang that Romes the streets they fight for what they believe is right and this has NOTHING at all or even in the slightest related to them so next time bring a name up that will make you sound smart instead um dumb.
I don’t understand why the Police can’t just pump these bastards full of holes and have it over with. Not only are there buildings and vehicles being set ablaze but now even a couple of scheduled Football matches in the capital have been called off.
Why should the rest of us have to suffer just because a bunch of underprivileged, inbred scruffs have nothing better to do with their pathetic excuses for lives but cause trouble? If they’re going to act like trash they deserve to be treated like trash, just open fire on them and throw their bodys in the garbage where they belong.
This is what happens when ‘Anonymous’ take to the streets. And that is why they are also criminals.
wtf is this shit?
the police are soft man! freaking soft!
these gangs are the one attacking innocent, playing happy slappy and when they are out of control the police can’t do sh* against them!?
@chris
It might have been a joke?
Either way, if it wasn’t, this will probably require a large cash investment until the Insurance clears, perhaps delaying the release of the vita
@jeremy
I don’t understand. this is a place where they make discs and research disc technology. nothing to do with Playstation
Looks like the PS Vita will be delayed now
