Star Wars: The Old Republic launching in December.

SWTOR Splash Screen Highly anticipated MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic will release worldwide in December, have announced.

Speaking during a developer session at the Eurogamer Expo, BioWare co-founders Ray Muzkya and Greg Zeschuk revealed that American players can finally get their hands on the game on December 20th, 2011, with European folks getting the game two days later, on the 22nd.

“This is an incredible moment for everyone at BioWare and our partners at LucasArts who have dedicated their lives to build this extraordinary game. We appreciate the patience from the millions of fans who have been waiting for the game’s release.”

Each copy comes with 30 days free game time, after which players will have to pay a subscription to continue playing. 1 month costs $8.99, 3 months sets you back $13.99 per month (one-time charge of $41.97/£25.17/€35.97) and 6 months costs $12.99 per month (one-time charge of $77.94/£46.14/€65.94).

Players who pre-order will also get early access, but dates for that weren’t mentioned.
