Battlefield 3 beta client offers up map names, Karkand weapons.

Battlefield 3 Gulf of Oman concept art. Datamining is all the rage these days, so it’s no surprise that eager beavers have been digging through the client files for ′s ongoing beta. Thankfully for us, they’ve discovered the name of every multiplayer, singleplayer, and co-op map, along will also the weapons that will be available in the Back to Karkand DLC.

First off, Karkand. We already know four of the maps in the pack, Wake, Sharqi, Oman and, of course, Karkand, leaving one slot open for a surprise. We didn’t know what weapons would be making the jump, until now. Files indicate that the FAMAS, MP5, PP19 (the SMG Chinese Anti-Tank used to have), QBZ95B (the assault rifle the Chinese had), L85A2, QBB95, MG36, Jackhammer, Type 88 and the L96 will all be making the move over into Battlefield 3.

As for multiplayer maps, 10 seems to be the magic number, with one being a very pleasant surprise. Bazaar, Highway, Forest (Caspian), Paris, Oilfields, Basejump, Subway (Op. Metro), Canals, Kharg, and Omaha are the names to remember, along with a tutorial level – a much needed addition. Omaha is the main surprise there, suggesting the beloved Battlefield 1942 map will be getting an overhaul.

There are 10 singleplayer maps as well, with some being two parters. Bank, Earthquake (Fault Line), Finale (2 parts), Jet (2 parts), New York (2 parts), Paris, Sniper, Tank (2 parts, aka Thunder Run), Valley (Op. Guillotine), and Villa.

And to round things out, there are 10 co-op maps as well. A10, Breached, Hostage, Rolling Thunder, Behind Enemy Lines, Super Cobra, Extraction, Assassination, Exfiltration, and Subway.

Each singleplayer and co-op map can be played in four modes, easy, medium, hard, and hardcore, while multiplayer will be normal and hardcore.
