Sony’s sales figures for the Christmas period show that their original estimate of 15 million Playstation 3′s sold during fiscal 2011 was spot on, after the Playstation 3 sold 3.9 million units worldwide between 21st November 2011 and 5th January 2012.
The Playstation Move also came up trumps for Sony, selling 1.7 million. Elsewhere, the Playstation Portable managed 1.6 million and the Playstation Vita has sold 500,000 units during it’s first month on sale in Japan.
Playstation 2 sales continue to trudge along, particularly in emerging markets such as Southeast Asia, South America, and the Middle East. In total, 500,000 Playstation 2′s found their way into peoples homes period.
