Update: Looks like 1UP have beaten Spike to the punch. Below is an extended version of Spike’s teaser, which, coupled with 1UP’s claims the series is the revival of the Spec Ops games, an obscure PS1 based franchise, looks to have spoiler the surprise some. it’s possible, of course, the broadcast will reveal some more information, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

The reboot was first rumoured in the Quartermann section of (now defunct) publication EGM. The CGI trailer was uploaded to Adland.tv in August, this year.

Original teaser can be viewed here, extended version above.

Looks like Spike’s annual Video Game Award show may be worth watching this year, following Geoff Keighleys constant assertion the event will be filled with new announcements. So far, it’s been revealed the event will show the first gameplay of Bungies next venture into the Halo universe, Halo: Reach.

Now, with this teaser trailer for an upcoming shooter from 2K Games, it would appear the show has at least two things I’m relatively interested in seeing.

Spike have also opened user voting for a variety of awards, from game of the year through to best DLC.
