teamfortresswarday42 Valve’s War Update rages on, with the demoman team still behind, by just over 200,000 kills. They’re getting a helping hand though, in the form of ‘The Eye Lander’ and ‘The Chargin’ Targe’, both parts of the Close Combat Kit.

The sword will take up the players melee weapon slot and offers a guaranteed decapitation with every killing blow. Sadly though, because the blade is haunted, users will have to deal with a decreased health pool. However, each kill will gift the player a small health and speed boost (up to four kills).

Next up is the The Chargin’ Targe, a shield which replaces the trusted sticky bomb launcher. The shield offers a massive +50% fire resistance and +65% blast damage resistance, as well as an alt-fire, which charges the demoman at his target at a high speed. When used in conjunction with the Eye Lander, players who strike a blow while charging will get the bonus of a mini-crit or full blown crit, depending on the charged distance.

Valve also released another comic, offering users a look at the demoman’s life, as well as hints towards further weapon updates to both the demoman and soldier.
